The Foundations of Leninism published by Joseph Stalin in 1924 is a nine chapter work on building an actually-existing socialist society. The book was originally published in Pravda, the newspaper of the Soviet Union. The essence of Foundations of Leninism is the imperative to build a disciplined party organization committed to socialism and a critique of spontaneity as a means to create a lasting working class party.
Lenin's essential work on the State in society, the necessity of proletarian revolution, and the theoretic inadequacies of social democracy in achieving revolution. It describes the inherent nature of the State as a tool for class oppression, a creation born of one social class's desire to control all other social classes.
SOCIALISM, UTOPIAN AND SCIENTIFIC
Friedrich Engel's classic book explains that whereas utopian socialism is idealist, reflecting the personal opinions of the authors and claims that society can be adapted based on these opinions, scientific socialism derives itself from reality.
V.I. Lenin's Imperialism remains the most significant work on imperialism for over 100 years. The book describes the function of financial capital in generating profits from imperial colonialism, as the final stage of capitalist development to ensure greater profits. The essay is a synthesis of Lenin's modifications and developments of economic theories that Karl Marx formulated in "Das Kapital".
